Our Story
Welcome to Unscripted by Maa, where two best friends and single moms tackle life’s beautiful chaos one laugh, cry, and occasional “what just happened?” moment at a time. We’re proud survivors of motherhood with over 8 years of blogging experience, two wildly opinionated daughters running our lives, and enough mom fails to make a Netflix series. If life is a circus, we’re the ringmasters tripping over our own hula hoops while trying to keep the elephants in line.
Let’s face it, life rarely goes as planned, and honestly, that’s where the best stories come from. Like the time you spent an hour making dinner only to hear, “I don’t like this anymore,” or the mysterious disappearance of socks that the universe apparently eats for fun. These moments may not feel magical when they happen (okay, they don’t), but they make for some pretty epic stories later.
We started Unscripted by Maa because we realized that the best moments in life are unplanned, and totally mundane ones. Motherhood isn’t Pinterest-perfect, it’s messy, loud, and occasionally sticky for reasons you don’t even want to know. It’s about finding yogurt cups in your purse and surviving a meltdown in the middle of the grocery store because apparently the wrong cereal was purchased.
This isn’t just a blog, it’s a safe space for anyone feeling a little overwhelmed by life, to vent, laugh, and realize we’re all failing it together. Whether it’s sharing our most epic fails, celebrating tiny wins, or bonding over the fact that laundry is a never-ending pit of despair, we’re here to remind you that you’re not alone.
At Unscripted by Maa, we keep it unfiltered. We embrace the moments that don’t make it to Instagram, the ones where you’re running late for school drop-off because someone couldn’t find their shoes (that were right in front of them), or when you finally sit down for a minute, and something crashes in the background. It’s real, it’s raw, and it’s unapologetically imperfect.

2015
Jab We Met (Online)
One comment led to another and we landed in each others inbox discussing single motherhood, finances and life. What started as an interaction, ended in us sharing and living experiences via each other for years to come.
2018
Jab We Met (Offline for the first time)
3 years later, Harshala travelled all the way to Delhi to meet Udita and other mom friends. So how was meeting for the first time in real life? Like meeting someone you have known all your life.
2024
A December to Remember
After almost a decade together when Udita and her daughter came to stay with Harshala and her family around Christmas, it felt like they never left yet the popular Delhi vs Mumbai did keep us talking.
